State Representative Barry Mask has announced two significant grants for Tallassee this week. Mask was notified by Governor Bob Riley’s office Monday morning that Tallassee will receive a $500,000 sewer grant and a $50,000 planning grant to assist with downtown revitalization. Both of these grants are to be awarded from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs’ (ADECA) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
“I appreciate Governor Riley’s help with our requests,” said Mask. “We’ve had a great year-end for Tallassee with the recent announcement of $1.444 million for industrial access roads and $250,000 for emergency generators. And, now we can add these two. I also appreciate the Central Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission (CARPDC) for preparing these grant requests for me as well as Tallassee.”
