Dollar General opened its second location in Wetumpka last week. The company’s new store is located at 60 Redland Road.
“The store opened May 22,” said Emily Weiss, media relations manager for Dollar General Corp. “It will host a grand opening celebration June 4 at 8 a.m.”
The grand opening event will offer customers free prizes and special deals.
The first 50 shoppers will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 customers will be given a Dollar General tote bag. Weiss said there would be other giveaways.
According to a company press release, the new store features a layout designed to make shopping simple for customers.
Seasonal products are displayed in the center of the store and departments are easily recognizable with visible signage. Coolers are located at the front of the store.
Dollar General stores offer customers a focused selection of national brands and private brands of food, housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel and health and beauty care products.
Hours at the Redland Road store are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. The store employs six to ten people.
Dollar General currently has more than 9,300 stores in 35 states.
