An event next week will allow attendees to sample some of the best dishes prepared by a variety of local restaurants and caterers.
A Taste of Elmore County will be held May 3 at the Wetumpka Civic Center from 6 to 8 p.m.
The buffet-style tasting event will offer samples of appetizers, entrees, desserts and more from some of the county’s favorite food service businesses. Almost 20 caterers and restaurants have committed to participate, and more are signing on every day.
Music provided by local high school jazz bands will serenade diners.
A Taste of Elmore County is a fundraising project of the Leadership Elmore County (LEC) Class of 2012. All proceeds will provide financial assistance to the Elmore County Food Pantry.
The event is also intended to increase awareness of the food pantry’s service to the area, which has risen to providing food for nearly 1,300 families across the county.
Tickets are $25 per person and may be purchased at the Millbrook, Tallassee and Wetumpka chamber offices; River Bank & Trust in Wetumpka; City of Wetumpka administrative building or from members of the LEC Class of 2012.
Tickets will also be available at the door.
LEC is a community leadership program established in 2001 and sponsored by the three local chambers and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System’s Elmore County Office.
Each year’s class chooses a project which members feel will benefit the county.
