Just a short drive from Alabamaโ€™s historic state capital, Elmore County is home to a powerhouse network of fire departments, including Millbrook, Wetumpka, Tallassee, and 17 all-volunteer teams. These departments are the backbone of our emergency response and are proudly represented by the Elmore County Firefighters Association.

Together, they form an elite force of trained professionals and dedicated volunteers who not only respond to emergencies but also run toward them. From battling structure fires and performing daring rescues to delivering critical EMS services, these men and women are always ready to answer the call.

Behind the scenes, our firefighters undergo rigorous training and operate top-tier fleets packed with cutting-edge tools and equipment to help protect homes, schools, buildings, historic landmarks, and vital infrastructure across the county.

However, their mission does not stop at emergencies. The Elmore County Firefighters Association also leads a nationally recognized fire safety education program thatโ€™s changing lives. Through school visits, media outreach, and high-energy community events, they teach fire prevention with passion, purpose, and a powerful local impact.

These firefighters are more than first responders โ€” theyโ€™re mentors, protectors, and local heroes. Their courage, compassion, and relentless dedication make Elmore County not just safer, but stronger.

To every firefighter, EMS provider, and first responder in Elmore County, thank you. You are the heart of our community, the guardians of our neighborhoods, and the everyday heroes weโ€™re proud to call our own.
