Shovels hit the dirt in downtown Millbrook as Garner Electric, Inc. and Garner & Associates Engineering PC officially broke ground on their future home. City leaders, business partners, and members of the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce gathered to celebrate the moment—a milestone not only for the Garner family but for the entire community.

“This groundbreaking is a sign that downtown Millbrook is expanding, growing, and thriving,” said Katie Mills, Chair of the Millbrook Chamber and daughter of Garner Electric’s owner. “People want to be here and raise their families here, and we want to help them accomplish that.”

For decades, Garner Electric, Inc. has been a trusted name across Alabama, providing high-quality electrical services for both commercial and residential projects. Founder and President Harris Garner credits Elmore County itself as a driving force behind the company’s success.

“What all we have going on here in Elmore County is outstanding, and that is one of the reasons that our company is rooted here,” said Harris Garner, Founder and President of Garner Electric, Inc. “Our community growing allows our business to grow.”

Garner & Associates Engineering PC, founded by Harris’s son, Morgan Garner, specializes in consulting and design services for electrical, life safety, and auxiliary systems, with locations already established in Montgomery and Tuscaloosa. Now, Morgan is bringing his business home.

“My goal has always been to own a business back here in Millbrook, and we are going to start that goal today,” said Morgan, who was inspired to become an engineer at a young age after growing up helping his father in the family’s electrical business.

The new joint facility is more than just bricks and mortar. It represents Elmore County’s rise as a hub for business, family, and opportunity. With its thriving local economy, strong community ties, and welcoming atmosphere, Millbrook is attracting leaders who value both growth and quality of life.
