For more than 15 years, the Elmore County Food Pantry has been a place where neighbors help neighbors. Serving families across Elmore County, the pantry has become a trusted lifeline for those facing food insecurity, offering not only nourishment but reassurance that they are not alone.

The pantry was founded in 2008 by Pastor Charles Chamblee of Victory Temple Church in Wetumpka, following a growing awareness of local families in need. What began as a small, community-driven outreach rooted in faith and compassion has grown into one of the countyโ€™s most impactful service organizations.

Today, the Elmore County Food Pantry serves more than 520 families each month, thanks to the support of volunteers, churches, businesses, and residents who believe in coming together to care for one another.

โ€œThe pantry is built on obedience, compassion, and a willingness to step out in faith,โ€ said Jade Skinner, current director of the Elmore County Food Pantry. โ€œBut itโ€™s also built on the incredible support of this community. Everything we do is made possible by people who care.โ€

A significant milestone came in December 2014 when the pantryโ€™s Board of Directors purchased the facility at 515 West Boundary Street in Wetumpka. The building provided much-needed space and allowed the pantry to expand its reach to serve more families throughout the county.

โ€œThis building represents more than walls and shelves,โ€ Skinner said. โ€œIt represents a community standing togetherโ€”offering hope, dignity, and the reassurance that no one in Elmore County has to face hunger alone.โ€

As needs continue to grow, the Elmore County Food Pantry remains committed to its mission, strengthened by the ongoing generosity of the community it serves. Through shared effort, compassion, and faith, neighbors continue to show up for neighborsโ€”one family at a time.
