In Millbrook, community service isnโ€™t just an idea. Itโ€™s a commitment, and few groups embody that commitment more than the Millbrook Civitan Club, a dedicated organization focused on giving back and making a meaningful difference right here at home.

The Millbrook Civitan Club meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at Habaneroโ€™s, bringing together members who share a passion for service, connection, and supporting those in need. While the meetings offer fellowship and friendship, the heart of the club lies in its mission to serve the community.

โ€œOur goal has always been simple,โ€ said President Penny Nichols. โ€œWe want to make a positive impact wherever we can, whether thatโ€™s supporting local families, helping individuals with special needs, or partnering with other organizations that are doing good work in our area.โ€

Civitan International is known for its focus on helping people with developmental disabilities, and the Millbrook Civitan Club proudly carries that mission forward while also responding to local needs. Through fundraising efforts, volunteer work, and community partnerships, the club continually finds ways to uplift others and strengthen Elmore County as a whole.

โ€œWhat I love most about Civitan is that it brings people together for a purpose bigger than themselves,โ€ said Treasurer Brenda Kelley. โ€œEveryone brings something different to the table, but weโ€™re united by the desire to serve and to make our community better.โ€

The clubโ€™s monthly meetings are open, welcoming, and centered around building relationships, both within the group and throughout the community. Whether members are planning service projects, discussing upcoming events, or simply sharing a meal together, thereโ€™s a strong sense of camaraderie and shared responsibility.

โ€œGiving back doesnโ€™t always have to be complicated,โ€ said Secretary Susan Stringer. โ€œSometimes itโ€™s about showing up, lending a hand, and letting people know theyโ€™re not alone. Thatโ€™s what Civitan is all about.โ€

The Millbrook Civitan Club continues to be a shining example of how local organizations can create lasting change through compassion, service, and teamwork. Their ongoing efforts remind us that when neighbors come together with a shared purpose, the entire community benefits.

For those looking to get involved, make new connections, and be part of something meaningful, the Millbrook Civitan Club welcomes new faces and fresh ideas, because in Elmore County, heroes donโ€™t always wear capesโ€ฆ sometimes, they just show up and serve.
