ECEDA Partners with Alabama High School Rodeo Association

WETUMPKA, AL – On March 11th – 13th, the Elmore County Economic Development Authority (ECEDA) will partner with the Alabama High School Rodeo Association (AHSRA) to bring the Rodeo to Wetumpka. Approximately 140 high school students from all over the State of Alabama, as well as the Florida Panhandle, will compete at the arena at Brush Poppers Cowboy Church located just off Highway 14 at 46 Sanford Lane, Wetumpka, Alabama 36092. The public is invited to attend all events. Admission is free of charge.
The Rodeo schedule is as follows:
- Friday, March 11th: 7:00 pm – Slack Performance (no rough stock)
- Saturday, March 12th: 9:00 am – Rodeo Start; 3:00 pm – Reining Cow Horse; 5:30 pm – Team Roping Jackpot
- Sunday, March 13th: 9:00 am – Rodeo Start with Church in the Dirt Service
Elmore County Commissioner Bart Mercer says “I’m excited that ECEDA is participating in this great family event and that these visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of Elmore County and the City of Wetumpka. I wish all of these contestants and their families a safe rodeo and I look forward to seeing you in Elmore County on your next trip”.

Plus, the economic impact is significant and of course return trips to enjoy what Elmore County has to offer”.
The Alabama High School Rodeo Association is a 501(c)(3) corporation and is a member of the National High School Rodeo Association. Membership is limited to students 19 years old or younger and enrolled in grades 9 – 12. The Alabama Junior High School Rodeo Association (AJHSRA) is a division of the AHSRA. Membership is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
